As the operator of 19 airports throughout Indonesia, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is aware that the airport is now not only a gateway into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. The airport has a broader role as a driver and supporter of industrial, trade, tourism activities as well as being the entry and exit point for economic activity.

Amid the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has made efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as well as protective measures against all elements of the airport.

These efforts continue to be carried out until now at 19 Angkasa Pura II airports. The following efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19:

Activate the thermal scanner
At the aircraft passenger terminal, PT Angkasa Pura II and the Port Health Office (KKP) have operated thermal scanners to scan the passengers' body temperature. If there are aircraft passengers with temperatures above 38 degrees Celsius then the screen on the monitor is detected in red and further action will be taken by the KKP Team.

Equip personnel with Thermo Gun
The use of the thermo gun is the same as a thermal scanner which is to scan the body temperature of the passenger plane. The advantage of the thermo gun is that it is compact and easy to carry (mobile) by personnel concerned for passenger inspection.

Do surveillance syndrome
It is in the interest of the personnel to monitor and improve supervision to find out whether or not the passengers of the aircraft have been infected with the Corona virus.

Provides more hand sanitizers at the passenger terminal
Clean living behavior can help prevent the outbreak of aircraft passengers from the Corona virus. Therefore, PT Angkasa Pura II now provides more hand sanitizers at the passenger terminal of the aircraft, especially at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Distribute masks regularly to the airport community
PT Angkasa Pura II cooperates with a number of agencies to periodically distribute masks to aircraft passengers and other communities to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

Perform a simulation of handling passenger planes infected with Corona
Simulations are carried out together with the Port Health Office, complete with various standard equipment for quarantine handling and so on.

Establishment of the National Air Facilitation Committee (FAL Air)
The establishment of the FAL Committee is in accordance with ICAO Annex 9 to improve coordination among aviation stakeholders to take the necessary steps in preventing the spread of the Corona virus.

Activation of Alert Monitoring Alert Post Coronavirus in Soekarno-Hatta
The command post was activated in Soekarno-Hatta on January 31, 2020, or the day after WHO declared the Corona virus to be a Public Health Emergency. The post is equipped with a variety of medical equipment, CCTV monitors that monitor all passenger terminals, and the latest technological systems to speed up responses in tackling or preventing the spread of the Corona virus. This post is also a coordination post between stakeholders at the airport.

Establish procedures for handling aircraft carrying passengers infected with the Corona virus
In addition to anticipation efforts, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport also has a contingency plan if there are passenger aircraft that are infected with the Corona virus.

Stopping Indonesian-China flights and vice versa
The government and PT Angkasa Pura II temporarily suspended all flights on the Indonesia - China route and vice versa starting from 5 February 2020 at 00.00.

Ensuring that airplane passengers arriving fill out a Health Alert Card
PT Angkasa Pura II helps KKP to ensure the Health Alert Card form is filled in by every passenger who arrives at the airport. The card was distributed by the KKP as a step of supervision and as a sign that the passenger has been through the screening process at the airport, besides that it is also to increase alertness if the passenger experiences health complaints and seek treatment outside the airport.

Opened Contact Center 138 services related to Covid-19

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) prepared the Airport 138 Contact Center service to become the latest information center to the public about the influence of Corona (Covid-19) on traveler trips, flights and services at 19 airports managed by the company.

Procedure for limiting the arrival of travelers from Iran, Italy and South Korea at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

The government does not prohibit flights or the arrival of travelers from Iran, Italy and South Korea. However, what the government does is do restrictions. Foreigners arriving from the 3 countries are allowed to enter Indonesia if they have a health certificate which must include at least two information, namely Fit to Travel and Free from Respiratory Diseases. For foreigners who do not carry health certificates it is certain to be refused entry into Indonesia.

PT Angkasa Pura II Airports Apply Social Distancing For Aircraft Passengers

The implementation of social distancing is carried out by optimizing the available space in the terminal to create the recommended distance for airplane passengers, especially in areas where airplane passengers gather.

Baggage Recorded on International Flights Must Be Sprayed With Disinfectant Fluids

PT Angkasa Pura II conducts sterilization of registered baggage belonging to international flight passengers arriving at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The checked baggage referred to is the suitcase / bag / luggage of the passengers put into the aircraft hull.

Expand the hand washing area at the airport

The addition of a hand washing area equipped with hand washing soap was carried out among others in the motorized parking area, pickup area, airport visitor waiting area, the area close to the baggage trolley pick-up point, and other public areas. In addition, there are also many hand sanitizer points inside the airport passenger terminal for travelers or airport visitors.

Spraying disinfectant liquid on the air and land side of the airport

Spraying of disinfectants is carried out in all areas of the passenger terminal of the aircraft, in public areas, then in the trunk of passengers, as well as in the air side. Spraying is done by jet sprayer and using a disinfectant liquid containing the active ingredient hydrogen peroxida.

Provide Walk Through Disinfection facilities for aircraft passengers and workers at the airport

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) provides walk through disinfection (WTD) facilities at airports managed by the company to minimize the spread of Covid-19. The WTD facility works by spraying disinfectant liquid on passengers and airport workers when they walk into the facility.

Establish a checkpoint and checkpoint in the departure area equipped with health protocol facilities

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has activated a guard and inspection post equipped with health protocol facilities to support the smooth operation of airports and flights amid the Covid-19 pandemic. This is in line with Circular no. 4/2020 issued by the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 and Circular Letter of DGCA No. 31/2020.
