AP II Gives Airline Incentives Until the End of 2019

03 Jul 2019

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The government is currently seeking to reduce the cost of low cost airline tickets (LCC) for domestic flights. Director of Angkasa Pura (AP) II Muhammad Awaluddin said that it would provide incentives until December 2019 to support efforts to reduce ticket prices.

Awaluddin explained that the incentives provided directly impacted the decrease in airline operating costs. "The Incentive Concept this time is an operation incentive that will indeed directly reduce the airline's operating costs so we hope that the LCC flight ticket rates will also be more affordable," Awaluddin said on Wednesday (3/7).

He added that the incentive might also be re-evaluated so that LCC airline tickets could be reduced by up to 50 percent of the limit tariff. Especially ticket sales on certain days such as Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10.00-14.00 WIB.

Awaluddin said that incentives at certain hours were carried out so that flight schedules could be evenly distributed throughout the airport's operating hours. "So that the use of flight slots in each airport is more effective and efficient," Awaluddin said.

That way, he said, flights did not accumulate only in the golden time in the morning and evening. Awaluddin said that after being evenly distributed, airline and airport operations could more optimally increase the utilization of production equipment in serving the community.

He ensured that operation incentive was the second incentive for aircraft service at the airport, namely landing and placement services for aircraft given by AP II to airlines. Previously AP II had offered marketing incentives.

Furthermore, those still given AP II up to now are New Route Incentives, New Airlines Entrance Incentives, Red Eye Incentives, and Unschedule Flight Incentives with cash back methods.

"AP II hopes that airlines can use or combine marketing incentives and operation incentives so that operational costs can be reduced so that the price of airline tickets is increasingly affordable," Awaluddin said.
