JAKARTA (IndoTelko) - PT Angkasa Pura II (AP 2) won the award as an Innovative Airport Management Service Company using Digital Technology in the 2019 Indonesia Most Innovative Business Award.

The 2019 Most Innovative Business Award is a form of appreciation to industry players in Indonesia who are able to produce the best innovations so that they can continue to grow and compete in the tight competition of the industry.

In determining the winners, the Economic News Research Team conducted research using the desk research and online survey methods. Both methods are carried out to assess business innovation in 530 issuers (public companies) through official company reports and company internal publication data.

In addition, surveys were also conducted on large private companies and controlled market share in the industry. The target companies surveyed are in nine main sectors and 42 industrial sub-sectors. This series of research activities was conducted from April 1 to June 14, 2019.

Assessment parameters are based on four forms of innovation, namely product and service innovations, processes, organizations, and business models.

As is known, several Airport Digital Travel Experience programs provided by Angkasa Pura 2 ranging from self check-in, digital wayfinding, digital lounges, smart taxis, smart baggage, E-booth, to smart toilets.

Angkasa Pura II is carrying out 3 transformations, namely business & portfolio transformation, infrastructure & operation system transformation, and human capital transformation. The transformation to achieve the goal of providing a smart connected airport.

"Digitalization in airport management cannot be denied, airports cannot be managed in traditional ways anymore. Airports can be likened to connecting all economic activities, so if there is the term Internet of Things (IoT), tomorrow there will be an Airport of Things," he said. (ad)
