REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANGERANG - Terminal 3 Soekarno Hatta won the first prize in the event held by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in collaboration with the Airport Magazine. The holding of the Airport Award this year is the 11th time since it began in 2009 by the Airport Magazine.
Soekarno Hatta Airport set aside other airports through a survey conducted on 100 airports consisting of 13 PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) airports, 16 PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) airports, and airports within the Airport Operational Unit (UPBU) Class I, II, III.
In his remarks, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said that the awarding of the 2019 Airport Awards was held aiming to provide rewards for managers to compete in a healthy manner. In addition, the airport prioritizes the best service to service users without compromising safety and security aspects.
"We, as regulators, continue to provide guidance and supervision to airport managers throughout Indonesia. It aims to always maintain and improve services for flight service users, said Budi Karya, Friday (6/12) evening in a statement received by Republika.co.id.
On the same occasion, Director General of Civil Aviation, Polana B Pramesti added that to improve the performance of an airport requires the participation of the public and the media to provide feedback and suggestions. So that in the future it can be an improvement on all aspects of airport services and operations.
"We hope that we will not be satisfied until here, we must continue to compete and improve service quality and manage the airport better," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Airport Group Erwin Nurdin said, Terminal 3 of Soekarno Hatta International Airport set aside 100 other airports surveyed through a passenger questionnaire.
"This year's survey, from April to October 2018, was carried out through questionnaires by airplane passengers at 100 airports. The survey results are used as a reference for the jury to determine airports that are eligible for awards, "Erwin said.
He also said, credible judges in the field of services to the airports involved included Herry Bakti S. Gumay (Chair), Tengku Burhanuddin, Ninok Leksono, Dudi Sudibyo, Erwin Nurdin, Olivia Zalianty, Otong Rukmana, Polana B. Pramesti and Esthy Reko Astuty
Senior Manager of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport's Communication and Legal Branch, Febri Toga Simatupang said that the Award Airport encouraged us as airport managers to increasingly improve airport services, become better and more competitive, towards international class service standards.
"We are grateful for the achievement of the award which certainly complements the achievement of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in 2019, meaning that the performance of the services provided is highly considered by service users. Every award we receive makes us to continue to spur improvements in our services to continue more and more current achievements, "said Febri.
