Soekarno Hatta Airport Becomes First Airport to Apply A-CDM

21 Jun 2020

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II has prepared the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) system to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of aviation operations in the face of the global Covid-19 pandemic. In the initial stages, this system was implemented at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

A-CDM is a collaboration system between airport operators (PT AP II), aviation navigation service providers (AirNav Indonesia), airlines, ground handling service providers and other stakeholders to improve efficiency and effectiveness in flight operations.

PT AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said, AP II proactively needed to carry out digital adaptation in its business processes. That way, there is effectiveness and operational efficiency in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. "We want stakeholder collaboration to be increased to a higher level," Awaluddin said in a press statement to Republika, Saturday (6/20).

A-CDM has never been implemented in Indonesia and Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be the first airport to implement the concept.
As part of the implementation of A-CDM, stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be connected to a digital platform that contains various data related to airport and flight operations.

PT AP II as the Soekarno-Hatta operator for example provides flight information in realtime. Includes a planned parking location for aircraft and passenger departure gates in realtime.

"The airport operator will play the role of the committee chairman in the A-CDM so that it will also oversee the coordination of the A-CDM," Awaluddin said.

While airlines provide real-time flight plans including aircraft types and number of passengers. The airline also provides information about the target time the plane is ready to move from the parking lot (Target Off-Block Time / TOBT) to depart.

AirNav Indonesia provides information on the use of runways that are being used, planned use of runways, runway capacity, and other information related to flight traffic.

"Through closer collaboration through A-CDM, efficiency and effectiveness can be achieved," Awaluddin said.
