kumparan.com - The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, reviewed the operations of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) in the middle of the corona pandemic on Thursday (6/25).
During the visit Budi Karya was accompanied by Director General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation, Novie Riyanto and Managing Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), Muhammad Awaluddin.
Budi Karya seemed to check compliance with the health protocol at Soetta Airport. He wanted to see first hand how the procedures applied at Soetta Airport during the adaptation of new habits.
"We monitor the extent to which the procedure is implemented. In fact, health protocols are run properly and efficiently at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, "Budi Karya said in his statement on Thursday (6/25).
Meanwhile Novie Riyanto said, every stakeholder in the aviation sector must support the application of health protocols in order to foster public confidence.
"We will see how far this regulation is fulfilled by passengers, operators, and if all these are fulfilled then all parties will believe. The interest in using air transportation naturally will increase gradually, "explained Novie.
Novie assessed that so far the movement of aircraft during the transition to new normal has increased significantly.
"Based on yesterday's data, there are around 280 aircraft movements per day. We know at the beginning when Eid is under 100 movements per day. So, the increase has been 250% to 300% for Soekarno-Hatta, "he said.
As for Awaluddin, he said that his party would continue to maintain the consistency of all stakeholders at Soetta Airport in order to continue implementing the established procedures.
"This is very important, because regulations move dynamically according to developments. Then, our second priority is how to make a traveler feel comfortable to fly, how they go through the process comfortably, "he said.
He added, so far Kemenhub and AP II have decided to use technology to overcome the limited capacity of flight slots.
Through digital technology, said silent movement of passengers in the terminal can be more smooth and fast, so the flight slot can be increased.
AP II has also trialled the Travelation application in all managed airports. Travelation is a digital checking application on the documents required for a traveler to be able to fly. The required documents are identification, flight tickets, and a letter of rapid test / PCR test results that are still valid.
