Latest news about PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero)
Liputan6.com, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) supports the SAR operation of Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 which crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands on Saturday, January 9, 2021.
A number of personnel from the Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Division (ARFF) of Soekarno-Hatta Airport were assigned to be involved in the SAR operation.
PT Angkasa Pura II VP of Corporate Communication Yado Yarismano said the ARFF personnel were tasked with supporting operations at Tanjung Priok Port.
“ARFF personnel involved in Sriwijaya SJ 182 SAR operations have expertise as a Building Prevention Officer and Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighter. They were assigned to support the Basarnas Team at the SAR Operations Command Post at Tanjung Priok Port and on the boat, did not dive because they did not have a license to do so.
Yado Yarismano said there was no time limit for ARFF personnel to be involved in this SAR operation.
"As long as personnel are needed, they will be assigned to the SAR Operation Command Post at Tanjung Priok Port. Since then, the ARFF Division of Soekarno-Hatta Airport has made personnel arrangements so that they can still meet the standards of readiness and alertness in maintaining flight safety aspects, especially at the airport, "said Yado Yarismano.
"The number of personnel involved in the Sriwijaya SJ 182 SAR operation is adjusted to the needs in the field. For example, since last week, 6 personnel have been assigned, where then the number of personnel can decrease and increase according to the needs of the Basarnas Team," he added.
ARFF Bandaran Soekarno-Hatta is one of the best ARFF divisions in Indonesia. The main task of ARFF is to carry out emergency response both on the air side and on the land side at the airport according to the standards set by the regulator.
At least once a year, ARFF Divisions at all PT Angkasa Pura II airports hone their abilities and skills through the Airport Emergencey Exercise which is a simulation of handling emergencies.
Meanwhile, since last year PT Angkasa Pura II has increased training programs based on Virtual Reality (VR) technology.
“VR technology for training is very relevant in the current situation. In the midst of this pandemic, it does not mean that the training and learning process has stopped for ARFF personnel, instead it should be more intense by using technology, one of which is VR technology, "said Yado Yarismano.
In this VR technology-based training, ARFF personnel practiced using the Fire Emergency Response module as a simulation in handling emergencies on the air side of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
