Diah said, "A meeting like this is certainly very positive for all parties. We will always support AP II in the BJBS development process so that it is on time as planned. The realization of Jenderal Besar Sudirman Airport has been eagerly awaited by the community, not only Purbalingga, but the districts around Purbalingga and will be the pride of the people of Central Java, especially the Purbalingga community, "Diah said.
According to Awaluddin, his arrival was an effort to increase communication intensity between stakeholders at Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport. Thus it is expected that the construction of the airport that stands on an area of 115 hectares can go according to plan. "We are grateful for the Regent's willingness to accept our visit and support the acceleration of BJBS development. The hope is that in 2020 phase I, the air and land sides have been completed. So it's ready for operation, "Awaluddin explained.
The Angkasa Pura II group continued the meeting with Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Putu Sucahyadi as the Danlanud General Besar Sudirman. Putu said that if he strongly supports the construction of General Besar Sudirman Airport. In addition to providing benefits in improving the regional economy, the existence of this airport is believed to be able to support the duty of the TNI in carrying out military operations. "The existence of this airport will also support the duty of the TNI in carrying out military operations, such as the operation of the TNI in managing natural disasters that require air transportation facilities in its handling," he explained.
Construction of the Jenderal Besar Sudirman Airport phase I focused on accelerating the development of the air side with 1,600 meters of runway and 30 meters wide to be built. Continued with the expansion of a terminal building with an area of 3,600 square meters that can accommodate nearly 500,000 passenger movements per year.
The presence of the Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport will be able to reach a number of areas in Central Java so that it can encourage economic growth in the western to southern parts of Central Java such as Banyumas Regency, Purbalingga Regency, Banjarnegara Regency, Wonosobo Regency, and Kebumen Regency.
