Angkasa Pura II Served 2 Million Passengers During the Chinese New Year 2018

19 Feb 2018

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) during the Chinese New Year 2018 holiday managed to serve around 1.9 million passengers in all airports that managed. This number has increased by more than 25% compared to last year which only reached 1.4 million passengers. This increase was driven by a fairly long Chinese New Year holiday period, from February 15 to 2018. This resulted in a high level of public interest in traveling.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II  Muhammad Awaluddin said that his crew also appreciated the high public interest in the Chinese New Year 2018, considering that this year the airport owned by Angkasa Pura II had operated a new terminal, capable of accommodating high passenger numbers compared to normal days. "Besides that, some destinations which are favorite destinations during the Chinese New Year holiday are airports that we manage such as Pontianak, Kualanamu, Pangkal Pinang, Tanjungpinang and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport," Awaluddin explained.

The largest number of passengers came from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, which is the main airport of Angkasa Pura II with a passenger number of around 936,911 passengers or an increase of around 13% compared to normal days which only reached 826,735 passengers.

Meanwhile, the movement of the aircraft has increased by approximately 15% to 14,274 movements in this year compared to last year around 12,308 movements.

Awaluddin added that as the operator of 14 airports, it was the responsibility of Angkasa Pura II to provide the best service. "Services are not only about improving facilities but also creating a terminal atmosphere that has Chinese nuances. By providing maximum service, in the future it is expected that all Angkasa Pura II airports can serve more passengers," Awaluddin concluded.
