Yogyakarta - The Minister of Transportation invites renowned painter Erica Hestu Wahyuni to return to displaying his work at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Met during his working visit to Yogyakarta, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi was accompanied by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) President Director Muhammad Awaluddin hoped that Erica could again take part in beautifying Terminal 3.
Budi explained that in addition to excellent service, aesthetic touches are also an important element in an airport and are able to be a special attraction for passengers.
"The service is good and optimal, so that it gets even better, it's beautified using Ms. Erica's paintings. The paintings are colorful and unique so that it can attract passengers who see and can be more crowded on social media. Terminal 3 is expected to be a friendly place for art. and airports should be the pioneers of the education gallery for the community, "Budi said.
In line with Budi, Awaluddin hopes that with the increasing collection of world-class paintings in Terminal 3, passengers can also experience a different experience while at the airport.
"We want to present a different experience. A touch of art and culture from Mbak Erica's paintings can be used as an airport journey experience for passengers both coming and going," said Awaluddin.
Erica Hestu Wahyuni is one of the Indonesian artists whose works can not be doubted. The artwork of the alumni of the Indonesian Fine Arts Institute and the Surikov Art Institute, Russia has been recognized by connoisseurs of world art.
Unique strokes that combine a lot of colors and bring out many characters in one canvas make his work labeled as a contemporary art of naive art. This uniqueness is the main attraction for connoisseurs of painting. No doubt his work is much in demand by art collectors to America and Europe.
There are now 28 of Erica's works displayed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Including his masterpiece "Prosperity of Heritage" which is displayed in the Terminal 3 domestic arrival area. In the near future, he will add his world class work in the Terminal 3 area of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
"Hopefully I have been able to say that Terminal 3 is a giant gallery of my artwork, yes, because some of my works are allowed to appear there and this is a matter of pride for me," concluded Erica.
