Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) in 2020 strengthened its position as The Leading Indonesia’s Airport Company by introducing the concept of Adjacent Business as a strategy in accelerating business growth.
The concept of Adjacent Business itself can be interpreted as the creation of new business lines to reach new markets to strengthen PT Angkasa Pura II's core business as airport manager.
PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that the company's Core Business has been produced from the Aeronautics and Non-Aeronautics businesses that have been carried out for decades, including through airport management, airport capacity building and the establishment of special areas at the airport.
"We call it the Legacy Business which was contributed by Aeronautica Legacy and Non-aeronautica Legacy," Muhammad Awaluddin said.
Meanwhile, the implementation of Adjacent Business is to generate revenue from new business lines in Aeronautics and Non-aeronautics.
"Through this Adjacent Business concept, PT Angkasa Pura II will produce New Wave Business, which is revenue from the Aeronautica New Wave and Non-Aeronautical New Wave businesses. That is, we expand the market from Core Business. We are not far from the core business. The company's business portfolio is now not only Aero and Non-aero, but has been seriously and integrated into the Beyond The Core business area. "
"If we only rely on Core Business, the company will grow naturally, but if we implement Adjacent Business, the growth of PT Angkasa Pura II will definitely be faster," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
The Adjacent Business that has been implemented this year is strengthening the portfolio of 5 subsidiaries, developing the aircraft repair business (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul / MRO), and Kualanamu Airport's strategic partnership program.
"The concept of Adjacent Business is the development of business portfolios as part of Business Transformation and Business Portfolios launched since 2016," Muhammad Awaluddin said.
Muhammad Awaluddin said the revenue target of Adjacent Business in 2020 was Rp130 billion or 1% of the company's total revenue target of Rp12.8 trillion.
"Adjacent Business will be even greater in the future, in line with our efforts to grow Core Business. The airport also needs to maximize the value it has for various developments, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
To oversee the implementation of the Adjacent Business concept, PT Angkasa Pura II formed a special unit within the company that was given the same name, the Adjacent Business Division.
The Adjacent Business Division itself has the Airport Solutions brandline which means that it is able to provide various solutions related to operations, services and facilities at the airport.
Meanwhile, the business portfolio that will be developed is X-CODE, which is an acronym for eXperience, Consumable, Operation, Digital, Entertainment & Life Style with target consumers are corporate, business and personal.
The business development in Adjacent Business is carried out with organic and inorganic strategies as part of the company's efforts to accelerate growth.
