Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) adjusted operating hours at 12 airports in order to optimize services and support the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.

The airports are Kertajati (Majalengka), Sultan Thaha (Jambi), Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang), Fatmawati Soekarno (Bengkulu), Sultan Iskandar Muda (Aceh), Tjilik Riwut (Palangkaraya) and Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjung Pinang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Radin Inten II (Lampung), Supadio (Pontianak), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru) and Banyuwangi,

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airports were operating with shorter time than normal conditions.

This policy has been approved by the regulator with the issuance of Notice to Airmen regarding operating hours for each airport.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that although operational hours were shortened, the airports would remain on standby to anticipate a number of flights in special conditions.

"Operational hours at 12 airports have been shortened in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, however PT Angkasa Pura II remains on standby when there are aircraft that experience technical and operational constraints and require the airport to land. We are also on standby if there are medical-related flights and logistical flights especially those carrying COVID-19 infection substance samples. ”

"In addition, the airport is still open if there are planes that are forced to land outside the airport operating hours because for example there is a delay in the departure at the origin and so forth," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

"In this challenging period due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the most important thing is the health and safety of the traveler and airport personnel.
