In accordance with the Circular of the COVID-19 Task Force and the Ministry of Transportation, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Sets New Procedure for Departing Aircraft Passengers

08 May 2020

Prospective Passengers are advised to arrive early at the airport 3 -4 hours before departure

Jakarta - Commercial flights scheduled domestic routes are again allowed to operate carrying passengers since May 7, 2020 to overcome COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Passengers who are permitted to travel and the conditions that must be met are listed in Circular Letter (SE) No. 4/2020 concerning Criteria for Restricting the Travel of Persons in Order to Accelerate Handling of COVID-19 issued by the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling of COVID-19.

In line with the opening of the flight to overcome this COVID-19, PT Angkasa Pura II airports set a new procedure for passenger departure.

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) 's Director of Operations and Services Muhamad Wasid said the new procedure was carried out at all airports managed by the company by adjusting the situation and conditions on the ground.

"New procedures for processing passenger departures are established to ensure the fulfillment of the terms and conditions in SE No. 4/2020 of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, and SE No. 31/2020 issued by the Directorate General of Air Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation. "

"This new procedure is carried out in a strict manner with detailed stages, therefore we urge that prospective passengers have arrived at the airport 3-4 hours before the scheduled departure. This new procedure can also be carried out because of intensive coordination from all airport stakeholders such as the Port Health Office, TNI & Polri, airport authorities, airlines, and other parties, "Muhamad Wasid said.

At the busiest airport in Indonesia, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, new procedures have also been implemented for passengers on domestic flight flights during the prohibited Eid al-Fitr period 1441 H.

The new procedure in Soekarno-Hatta is as follows:

First, the departure service points are only in 2 points, namely Terminal 2 - Gate 4 and Terminal 3 - Gate 3. At each point there is a COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Control Post, which is part of the COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Handling Task Force.

Second, at the post the prospective passenger must show the travel documents such as flight tickets, identification, COVID-19 free certificate, travel certificate, and other documents that must be met in accordance with SE No. 4/2020.

Third, still at the same post prospective aircraft passengers are required to fill out a health alert card (Health Alert Card / HAC) and an epidemiological investigation form provided by KKP personnel.

Fourth, if all the files are complete and the HAC and epidemiology forms have been filled out, then the prospective passenger goes to the second examination table. On the examination table, all files were re-checked as were HACs and epidemiological investigation forms, by KKP personnel. After being declared complete, prospective passengers will receive a clearance letter from the KKP personnel.

Fifth, armed with a letter of clearance and all the documents, the prospective passenger then goes to the check-in counter to get a boarding pass.

Sixth, after the check-in counter, the passenger then goes to Security Check Point 2. At this SCP 2, Aviation Security personnel will check the clearance letter held by the prospective passenger of the aircraft, boarding pass, and identification.

Seventh, passengers then head to the boarding lounge.

"This procedure is also applied at other airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II, so that certain conditions can be met," said Muhamad Wasid.

PT Angkasa Pura II also ensures that airport operations meet the health protocol requirements as stated in Permenhub No. 18/2020 and Permenhub No. 25/2020.
