During this pandemic, most international flights were repatriation flights for Indonesian citizens working overseas, namely Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), Shipmen (ABK), as well as students and others.
Since March 2, 2020 until now, repatriation flights to Soekarno-Hatta have taken 15,000 Indonesian citizens back to Indonesia and in line with the implementation of strict health protocols, in the April-May 2020 period 40 Indonesian citizens were detected with rapid test results showing a reactive reaction to COVID-19.
The KKP then carried out further procedures until the passenger received treatment at the referral hospital, one of which was the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said stakeholders at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport strictly supported the implementation of all procedures including health protocols for Indonesian citizens and foreigners who had just landed.
The health protocol carried out by KKP at the airport refers to the Circular of the Director of Health Surveillance and Quarantine of the Ministry of Health No. 3508/2020 concerning Determination of Quarantine Status for Ships or Aircraft originating from infected areas in Indonesia.
"PT Angkasa Pura II supports the KKP so that health protocols can be implemented strictly in Soekarno-Hatta. This is an effort in breaking the chain of COVID-19 distribution since in Soekarno-Hatta as one of Indonesia's main gates, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
As for later, as of May 7, 2020, health protocols have been tightened again with the issuance of Circular Letter Number HK.02.01 / MENKES / 313/2020 concerning Health Protocols for Handling Indonesian Returnees and Arrival of Foreigners from Abroad at State and Regional Entrances in Large-Scale Social Limitation Situations .
The Circular includes detailed health protocols for Indonesian citizens and foreigners when they arrive at the Main Entrance. In general, the protocols implemented are interviews with Indonesian citizens and foreigners; checking temperature, signs and symptoms of COVID-19; oxygen saturation checks; rapid test and / or PCR examination.
In addition, passengers from abroad are also required to fill out a Health Alert Card (HAC) at the arrival terminal.
The implementation of the health protocol is expected to reduce the occurrence of imported COVID-19 cases.
Muhammad Awaluddin said that PT Angkasa Pura II also applied the concept of physical distancing in Soekarno-Hatta, especially at body temperature check points, checking of travel documents, security checks, immigration document checks and so on.
"The arrival area is the point where we make a great effort to maintain physical distancing, especially if flights arrive simultaneously and all passengers are required to undergo a health protocol by the CTF."
"We hope that passengers who have just arrived from abroad can also understand if there is a queue and continue to maintain physical distancing when they arrive at the arrival terminal, because health protocols are being carried out," Muhammad Awaluddin said.
