The company also distributes groceries to residents

Tangerang, Thursday (4/6) - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) once again distributed aid to residents and puskesmas in Tangerang, Banten, to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aid in the form of 750 food packages and 500 Korans was distributed to residents in Muara Ciujung Barat Village, East Keduagung Village, Warunggunung Village, Citeras Village, and Sukamekarsari Village, in the form of food packages.

Meanwhile, assistance was also distributed to Rangkas Bitung Community Health Centers, Mekarsari, Mandala, Warunggunung and Kalanganyar.

Each puskesmas received 50 boxes of hand glove, 6 boxes of nurse cap, 49 packages of vitamins, 200 pieces of face shield, 55 liters of hand sanitizer, 200 boxes of mask, 1,000 hazmat, 60 pairs of boots, 200 pieces of glasses.

PT Angkasa Pura II Director of Operations and Services Muhamad Wasid symbolically handed over the assistance today, Thursday 4 June 2020, to community representatives and puskesmas.

"We hope that this assistance can reduce the burden on residents, and also strengthen the health centers in dealing with and handling COVID-1, especially in carrying out the role of prevention, education, and monitoring in the community," said Wasid.

Previously, PT Angkasa Pura II had also distributed similar assistance to 7 puskesmas in Tangerang, namely Neglasari Puskesmas, Kedaung Wetan, Benda, New Mudi Mudi, Batu Ceper, Teluk Naga and Kosambi.

"Puskesmas are located in the middle of the community and easily accessible so they have an important role in handling COVID-19 and breaking the chain of distribution. Therefore, there needs to be support from various parties so that puskesmas can be more optimal in carrying out their functions, "explained Muhammad Wasid.

Muhamad Wasid explained that PT Angkasa Pura II as part of BUMN tried to help the community and medical staff in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Aid is also channeled in areas where PT Angkasa Pura II airports operate. The distribution of aid is also in line with the Circular of the Ministry of SOE Number SE-5 / MBU / DSI / 03/2020 concerning Combating COVID-19 Spread Through Social and Environmental Responsibility Activities, "said Muhammad Wasid.

Meanwhile, Head of Rangkas Bitung Community Health Center, dr. Ika Sari said, "We were greatly helped by this assistance. As one of the vanguard of the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, we hope to always be able to provide the best service and educate the surrounding community about the importance of preventing the spread of the virus and discipline in maintaining health.
