PT Angkasa Pura II and Stakholder Declare Safe Travel Campaign, Safeguard Protocols to Get Safe, Easy, Practical and Convenient

Disinfection, sanitation, mask distribution and rapid tests are carried out at AP II airports


Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) together with stakeholders on Wednesday 29 July 2020 launched a "Safe Travel Campaign: Safe Airport for Safe Travel Experience" at 19 airports.

Safe Travel Campaign on 29 July - 4 September 2020 as well as a declaration of all stakeholders to keep the AP II airport ready in facing the challenges of COVID-19.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin symbolically launched the Safe Travel Campaign online with the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Herson Airport Authority, the Director of Aviation Security of the Ministry of Transportation Mohammad Alwi and the Director of Airworthiness and Operation of the Ministry of Transportation, Dadun Kohar, and the Head of the Port Health Office of the Ministry of Health Anas Ma'ruf.

The launching of the campaign was also attended by the TNI / Polri, AirNav Indonesia, ground handling parties, Balai Quarantine, Immigration Office, airlines, airport train operators, land transportation operators and all tenants.

In the launch of the campaign, PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the Safe Travel Campaign aimed to create a safe travel experience, ensure operational and staff readiness to face the new normal, and rebuild the trust and confidence of travelers to travel by plane.

To achieve these objectives, the health protocol at AP II airport focuses on 5 initiatives.

"The five initiatives are Physical Distancing, Health Screening, Touchless Processing, Facility Cleanliness & Sanitizing, and People Protection. The implementation of initiatives is equipped with various facilities that utilize digital technology to increase public trust. "

"Through the health protocol, followed by close collaboration of stakeholders, as well as the availability of various digital technology facilities, to the spread of facilities that support the health aspects at the airport, we want to ensure that travel by plane is easy, practical, comfortable while staying safe, amidst the status of a pandemic so that stability the economy is still going well, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said the Safe Travel Campaign launched today is an effort to maintain the trust of regulators following the ease of regulation that has been given.

"It takes a variety of concrete actions in the enforcement of health protocols and high awareness of safety aspects," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

The head of the Soekarno-Hatta Herson Airport Otband said the regulator had established a protocol to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the aviation sector.

"The protocol must be fulfilled by every stakeholder so that flights can remain safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19," Herson explained.

Head of KKP of the Ministry of Health Anas Maruf said, "Safe Travel Campaign will make the Ministry of Health KKP personnel in Soekarno-Hatta more alert to face the adaptation of new habits in the aviation sector."

Chairperson of the Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA) Denon B. Prawiraatmadja said the aviation sector needs to give travelers confidence about the safety of flights through various COVID-19 prevention protocols.

"We support the Safe Travel Campaign launched at PT Angkasa Pura II airports. This is in line with the efforts of the aviation sector to rise again so that it can increasingly optimally become a driver of national economic recovery, "explained Denon Prawiraatmadja.

Disinfection, Free Masks, Rapid Test at 19 Airports
In line with the launch of the Safe Travel Campaign, simultaneous spraying of disinfectants was carried out at 19 AP II airports.

PT Angkasa Pura II Director of Operations & Services Muhamad Wasid said that disinfectant spraying was carried out in all areas of the airport starting from the departure area (security check point, check-in area, boarding lounge, garbarata), then the arrival area (baggage claim, arrival lobby, curb side), then the area of ​​land transportation, and other facilities such as ATM centers, trolly, escalator / travellator, cargo, and road cleaning using fire trucks.

"Symbolically in the framework of launching the Safe Travel Campaign, disinfectant spraying was carried out at 19 airports. Every day since a few months ago we have been spraying disinfectants in these areas and will continue, "said Muhamad Wasid.

AP II also provided 5,000 free 3 ply fabric masks at 19. Various PPE equipment used by airport personnel were also introduced to airport visitors.

In addition, AP II airports such as Soekarno-Hatta Airport and others also conduct rapid tests on employees.
