Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi today, Friday, September 18 2020, reviewed health facilities and protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The presence of the Minister of Transportation also coincided with the implementation of the onsite or activities of the Safety and Healthy Campaign held by PT Angkasa Pura II.

The Minister of Transportation arrived at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport at around 3:00 p.m. WIB to then be accompanied by the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin to witness the parade of personnel tasked with maintaining flight safety aspects and compliance with the COVID-19 health protocol, including aviation security personnel using smart helmets.

"This smart helmet can be used by mobile to directly measure the body temperature of airport visitors or airplane passengers," explained the Minister of Transportation.

Then, the Minister of Transportation reviewed the implementation of health protocols at the Security Check Point (SCP), then checked the health document validation check points, namely the results of the rapid test / PCR test, then checked in the counter, and then went to the boarding lounge.

"The health protocol at Soekarno-Hatta Airport has been well implemented, it must always be maintained," said the Minister of Transportation.

As for the Safe Travel Score released by Safe Travel Barometer, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is one of the airports in the world that received a high rating, reaching 4.09 in the implementation of the COVID-19 prevention health protocol. The rating is also the highest in Indonesia.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said health protocols must be strictly applied in the midst of this pandemic in order to maintain public trust in the national aviation sector.

"PT Angkasa Pura II always collaborates with all stakeholders so that operations at Soekarno-Hatta Airport can remain smooth in the midst of a pandemic by prioritizing the compliance aspect of the COVID-19 prevention health protocol."

"Preventing the spread of COVID-19 is currently one of the main focuses of PT Angkasa Pura II together with all stakeholders. We also always strive to produce various technology-based innovations to support facilities and services that are safe from COVID-19, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that the aspect of aviation safety was also something that could not be compromised.

"Currently PT Angkasa Pura II and other stakeholders are promoting discipline in maintaining flight safety and health protocol regulations, through the Safety and Healthy Campaign."

Regarding aviation safety, the focus of the campaign is to strengthen discipline in terms of cleaning foreign objects or hazardous materials (FOD) in the runway and apron area, then arranging ground support equipment (GSE) including nonmotorized GSE.

The rapid test fee has decreased to IDR 85,000
Meanwhile, in order to support the smooth running of health protocols and prevent the spread of COVID-19, the cost of rapid test at PT Angkasa Pura II airports has been reduced to IDR 85,000.
