Indonesia and Singapore Will Implement Reciprocal Green Lane, These Are 3 Focuses for Preparing Soekarno-Hatta Airport

Jakarta - Indonesia and Singapore are discussing Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) in the Safe Travel Corridor program, which is planned to be devoted to business travel and official travel in the midst of a pandemic.

Most likely, there are only two entrances and exits in the RGL scheme in Indonesia, and one of them is Soekarno-Hatta Airport which is managed by PT Angkasa Pura II.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said all stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport were ready to support the smooth implementation of the Indonesia - Singapore RGL.

"Through RGL, Indonesia and Singapore have created a safe travel corridor in the midst of a pandemic, which has a very good impact on the air connectivity of the two countries. Soekarno-Hatta Airport will prepare everything so that the implementation of this RGL can run smoothly. "

"The main focus of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is to ensure that health protocols are carried out strictly, including if there are additional procedures that must be followed by aircraft passengers on the Indonesia - Singapore and Singapore - Indonesia routes in implementing this RGL," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport will focus on making preparations at these 3 points to support the Indonesia - Singapore RGL:

1. Flight time slot
Soekarno-Hatta Airport flight time slots are confirmed to be available for the Indonesia - Singapore and Singapore - Indonesia routes. Of course, check-in counter and boarding lounge facilities will also be prepared.

2. Health protocol
PT Angkasa Pura II and the Port Health Office of the Ministry of Health (KKP Kemenkes) will coordinate on the health protocols that aircraft passengers must undergo at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, either at the point of departure for Singapore or at the point of arrival from Singapore.

3. Check point document inspection
PT Angkasa Pura II and related stakeholders such as the Immigration Office will coordinate with regard to document check check points at Soekarno-Hatta Airport for aircraft passengers on the route Indonesia - Singapore and Singapore - Indonesia.
The implementation of the RGL also takes into account the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number 26 of 2020 concerning Visas and Stay Permits in the Adaptation Period for New Habits.
Article 3 paragraph 1 of the Permenhumkam states that the granting of free visit visas and visit visas is temporarily suspended until the COVID-19 pandemic is declared to have ended by the ministry / agency handling COVID-19.

PT Angkasa Pura II Director of Operation & Service Muhamad Wasid said all facilities will be ready for use when the Indonesia - Singapore RGL is officially enforced.

"All the needs or facilities for the smooth implementation of the RGL Indonesia - Singapore at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be prepared by PT Angkasa Pura II and stakeholders," Muhamad Wasid.

The current health protocol at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will also be enforced for passengers on Indonesian - Singaporean and Singaporean - Indonesian aircraft, such as the obligation to carry out physical distancing, check body temperature and the obligation to wear a mask.

Under normal conditions, the flight route from Jakarta to Singapore is very crowded and is often the 3rd busiest route in the world.

PT Angkasa Pura II in the near future will also propose an Airport Corridor Arrangement Initiatives to realize safe travel on the flight route from Jakarta to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
