Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has completed the construction of the main airside facility (airside) of Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport in Purbalingga.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said the main facilities on the air side with 100 percent construction were runways, taxiways and aprons.

About 2 years ago, PT Angkasa Pura II began building the Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport from scratch, the term is from land which is still greenfield land. Now, Purbalingga already has an airport with all air side developments being carried out by the nation's children. Hopefully what we all do can bring benefits to the development of air connectivity in the country. "

In the initial stage, after the verification process is over and obtaining approval from regulators, Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport will be opened for minimal operation, in collaboration with TNI AU Air Force Base Jenderal Besar Soedirman to use Indonesian Air Force facilities as land-side facilities such as passenger terminals, PK- PPK and so on.

PT Angkasa Pura II Director of Engineering Agus Wialdi said, "Later PT Angkasa Pura II will also build a passenger terminal with a capacity of up to 300,000 passengers / year. In the initial stage, passenger movements are projected to be around 98,000 passengers / year with 4,500 aircraft movements. "

The existence of Jenderal Soedirman Airport can support the economy and community activities, especially related to the need for air transportation in Banjarnegara Regency, Purbalingga Regency, Banyumas Regency, Cilacap Regency and Kebumen Regency, Tegal Regency and Tegal City, as well as Pekalongan Regency and Pekalongan City.
