Jakarta - The use of GeNose C19 for the COVID-19 test as a travel requirement for airplane passengers is planned to be implemented on April 1, 2021 at Kualanamu Airport (Deli Serdang) and Husein Sastranegara Airport (Bandung).
Following this, on March 22, 2021, GeNose C19 will be tested and familiarized for 3 days at Kualanamu Airport and for 5 days at Husein Sastranegara Airport with a quota of around 100 tests per day. This trial is specifically for staff at the airport, not yet for passengers.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said this trial was to ensure the readiness of 3 aspects before GeNose C19 was implemented at the two airports.
"The aspects that must be ensured that they are ready are firstly related to People, how many personnel are needed and what expertise must be possessed. Then second, related to the Process, we must have an SOP and a map of the roles of each stakeholder. Then the third aspect is related to Facilities, where there must be facilities and infrastructure that support safety and security in the implementation of GeNose C19 on April 1 at Husein Sastranegara and Kualanamu Airports, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
Furthermore, AP II together with the Port Health Office of the Ministry of Health (KKP Kemenkes) will ensure that the test results from GeNose C19 can be integrated with the eHAC application.
"The eHAC which is owned by the Ministry of Health is currently being used to monitor travelers on both domestic and international routes, so that AP II and the Ministry of Health's KKP will ensure that the results of GeNose C19 can also be digitally inputted into the eHAC application, as well as the results of rapid tests and PCR. test that can be input in the eHAC application, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
As for AP II airports, prospective aircraft passengers will have to pre-order via the Travelation application if they want to use the GeNose C19, such as the rapid antigen test and PCR test.
Muhammad Awaluddin said that the implementation of GeNose C19 would also involve a subsidiary of PT Angkasa Pura Solusi (APS) which is responsible for GeNose C19 operations in the field.
"AP II supports the use of GeNose C19 because this domestic product has received a distribution permit from the Ministry of Health and has been approved by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force to be used as a COVID-19 test kit for long-distance train passengers. We make sure that when the regulations stipulate that the GeNose C19 can be used on flights, the AP II airport is ready to meet these regulations. "
GeNose C19 is a tool developed by Gadjah Mada University to detect COVID-19 through exhalation. The results of the examination through GeNose C19 can be seen in about 3 minutes.
Kualanamu Airport is the second largest airport managed by PT Angkasa Pura II, with a passenger terminal capacity of around 9 million passengers per year and will be developed to reach 40 million passengers per year.
Meanwhile, Husein Sastranegara Airport is one of the airports in the multi-airport system concept developed by PT Angkasa Pura II in DKI Jakarta and West Java. Other airports in the multi-airport system concept besides Husein Sastraengara are Soekarno-Hatta (Tangerang), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta) and West Java International Airport (Kertajati).
"The Ministry of Transportation will also gradually expand the use of GeNose C19 at all airports, and all AP II airports are ready to support the program," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Airport Health Center
Muhammad Awaluddin added that the infrastructure at all AP II airports was very ready to implement the use of GeNose C19.
"AP II Airport has an Airport Health Center which is a location for rapid antigen and PCR tests. The Airport Health Center is also equipped with digital infrastructure, such as the Travelation application developed by AP II to order COVID-19 tests. Later, GeNose C19 could also be integrated in the Airport Health Center by adding a number of facilities, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
AP II currently manages 20 airports including Soekarno-Hatta Airport which is the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia. Soekarno-Hatta Airport has the most Airport Health Center area among other airports, which are located at Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
