Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is expanding the GeNose C19 facility at the airports managed by the company.
Today, Saturday, April 24, 2021, the GeNose C19 facility is officially available at Banyuwangi Airport, East Java, in the framework of a trial.
The Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi was immediately present to review the first trial of the GeNose C19 facility at Banyuwangi Airport, accompanied by AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin and Director of Operation & Service Muhamad Wasid.
The Minister of Transportation on this occasion expressed his appreciation to Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani and the ranks of AP II in line with the availability of GeNose C19 facilities at Banyuwangi Airport.
"I appreciate AP II. This is the 9th AP II airport [which has provided GeNose C19 facilities]. Showed that AP II is serious about the efforts to prevent the corona virus. I appreciate the Banyuwangi Regent and AP II. I hope what we are doing is beneficial for the nation, "said the Minister of Transportation.
The Minister of Transportation said that GeNose C19 is a domestic product that has proven its superiority.
The GeNose C19 facility at Banyuwangi Airport is located in the international terminal building and operates from 06.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB.
The test with GeNose C19 at Banyuwangi Airport and other AP II airports consists of 3 stages, namely: Pre-process (registration in the application or on location), then On-process (verification and giving of breath bags), and Post-process (test results come out). These three stages can be completed in about 10 minutes.
AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the GeNose C19 facility at Banyuwangi Airport aims to support prospective passengers to meet health protocols related to the mandatory COVID-19 test before traveling by plane.
"Starting today, Banyuwangi Airport already has a GeNose C19 test facility, in the framework of testing. Thus, there will be three alternative COVID-19 tests for prospective aircraft passengers in Banyuwangi, namely the rapid antigen test, PCR test, and GeNose C19. This COVID-19 test facility is part of the Airport Health Center service at AP II airports, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Muhammad Awaluddin added, "Banyuwangi Airport is committed to supporting the smooth and successful use of GeNose C19 in the air transport sector."
The application of GeNose C19 for the COVID-19 test is also in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation Circular Letter No. 26 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel with Air Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
