Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) on Monday, June 21, 2021, inaugurated the operation of the Airport Infrastructure Control Center (AICC) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
AICC is equipped with various technologies including the latest software and modern equipment to connect online with facilities and infrastructure at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, so that online monitoring of facilities and infrastructure activities can be carried out.
The monitored facilities and infrastructure include electrical systems, in-building transportation, X-ray & walk through metal detectors (WTMD), fire alarm systems, and air circulation in all passenger terminals (Terminals 1, 2 and 3), as well as facilities at outside the terminal such as Main Power System 1, 2 and 3 generators, CCTV systems, data & network bandwidth, to clean water management.
AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the operation of the AICC was also to achieve 3 main goals in maintaining service quality.
"Through monitoring facilities and infrastructure through the AICC, Soekarno-Hatta Airport can maintain reliability in service [service reliability], respond quickly to customer input [service recovery], and as an early warning system [service availability]. Moreover, Soekarno-Hatta Airport can ensure global standard services."
“Digitalization in airport management is unavoidable, airports can no longer be managed in traditional ways. Moreover, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, which is equipped with 3 airplane passenger terminals as well as various facilities and infrastructure in an area of 2,200 hectares, and infrastructure development will continue to be carried out, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Through AICC, continued Muhammad Awaluddin, AP II can also analyze the needs of facilities and infrastructure in the future more quickly to support the role of more airports as centers of economic activity.
“Currently the airport is not just a place to get on and off the plane. Soekarno-Hatta Airport now acts as a liaison for all economic activities or an economic connector. If now there is the term Internet of Things [IoT], then in the future there will be Airport of Things [AoT]. Through the operation of a number of facilities equipped with the latest technology, including the AICC, AP II brings airport management in Indonesia to a higher level for security, safety and service."
The new facility is in accordance with AP II's vision to become an "Airport Enterprises Leader In The Region" through the development of advanced infrastructure, digital technology, sensors & connectivity, data integration, and data analytics & security, all of which are aimed at serving all customers and realizing digital savvy organization.
Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said the AICC had 6 tasks in monitoring facilities and infrastructure, namely:
- Collect data from existing systems and equipment perlengkapan
- Perform data and visual analysis analisis
- 24/7 monitoring of all facilities and infrastructure
- Maximize collaboration and coordination
- System and equipment maintenance management
- Management of the use of system assets and equipment
The presence of AICC complements the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) which has been in operation since 2017.
AICC is tasked with monitoring the performance of facilities and infrastructure, while AOCC is a coordination forum for all Soekarno-Hatta Airport stakeholders to ensure airport operations and flight operations run smoothly while maintaining service quality. The AICC room itself is in the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) building.
