Reflection on 1 Year of AKHLAK Implementation at AP II, Values That Drive Performance and Innovation in the Midst of a Pandemic

30 Jul 2021

Jakarta - The transformation of human resources culture based on AKHLAK is able to encourage PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) to always improve performance and produce various innovations even though it is in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AKHLAK is an organizational value declared by the Ministry of SOEs on July 1, 2020 and set in all SOEs. AKHLAK itself is an acronym for Amanah, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive and Collaborative.

In the 1 Year Reflection on the Implementation of AKHLAK as AP II Group's Corporate Values, President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin said the values in AKHLAK declared by the Ministry of SOEs were able to encourage AP II's HR to be more daring to get out of their comfort zone and leave the old mindset.

"Since July 2020, AP II has implemented AKHLAK as the company's core values. This 1-Year Reflection on the Implementation of AKHLAK has become a momentum for the cultural transformation of AP II's HR to be able to leave the comfort zone and change old mindsets."

"AP II HR has always adhered to the values of Trust, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive and Collaborative in maintaining airport operations, maintaining national air connectivity, and providing services to the community. This is what makes every AP II person strong, able to adapt, not easily give up and together through difficult conditions in the midst of a pandemic to ensure that all airports we manage are able to support the national aviation sector and maintain Indonesia's air connectivity, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

In the midst of this pandemic, airports managed by AP II can maintain operations in serving all types of regular flights and flights in the context of repatriating Indonesian citizens, flights carrying pandemic handling assistance, to flights carrying vaccinations. Soekarno-Hatta Airport as the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia as well as the country's main gateway even continues to operate 24 hours a day.

The success in maintaining airport operations and providing this service is due to the ability of AP II's human resources to be able to apply the values contained in AKHLAK.

Morals Program
As for the 1 year implementation of AKHLAK as core values, AP II has also run a number of programs for cultural understanding, including Morals in Mobile Learning, Culture Summit, Culture Story, and strengthened by a number of webinar series and Leaders Talk.

AP II also gave birth to the Angkasa Muda program to encourage millennials as agents of change in the company in introducing the value of AKHLAK in creative and innovative ways.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that the transformation of human resources culture based on AKHLAK really supports the digital transformation that has been carried out by AP II since 2016.

AP II's digital transformation is now treading the second transformation curve with the theme The Great 2020, namely Go Global, Resilient in Operation, Enthusiasm in Service, Accelerating in Business and Talent Development.

"The application of AKHLAK as core values will support the success of AP II's digital transformation to become an Airport Enterprise Leader in the Region," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
