AP II Airport opens Monitoring Post 17 December 2021 - 4 January 2022

Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi instructed all stakeholders in the aviation sector to tighten health protocols and carry out a ramp check at airports in preparation for air transportation during the 2021/2022 Christmas and New Year holidays.

In line with the instructions from the Minister of Transportation, PT Angkasa Pura II has increased its alertness to ensure that health protocols are strictly implemented, as well as to ensure the readiness of security, safety and service facilities at the airport.

"AP II has prepared an airport operation plan for Christmas and New Year, and in order to maintain preparedness in the midst of a pandemic, today AP II officially opens the Air Transport Monitoring Command Post for the 2021/2022 Nataru Period at 20 airports managed by the company," said President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin during the Work Call for the Opening of the Nataru Monitoring Post, 17 December 2021.

The Command Post operates from December 17, 2021 to January 4, 2022 as a forum for stakeholder collaboration, namely AP II, COVID-19 Task Force, Airport Authority Office, Airlines, Quarantine, Immigration, Customs and Excise, TNI, Polri, and Local Government.

"The existence of the Command Post can create a hygienic, healthy, safe airport through the application of health protocols including ensuring hygienic and clean facilities, health screening, physical distancing, and touch-free service facilities at AP II airports," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin explained that this post has three main tasks. First, as a monitoring & inspection post to ensure the implementation of health protocols, ensure the implementation of checking travel documents and ensure the smooth process of departure and arrival.

Then the second task is as a Data Monitoring Post which will record flight traffic every day to see existing trends. Meanwhile, in the third task, the Command Post prepares various mitigation measures to prevent and handle conditions that can disrupt services and operations at the airport.

"Through this Nataru Command Post, AP II is also implementing biosafety management and biosecurity management for the health aspect, then optimizing the security system according to SOPs, ensuring facility reliability, and optimizing flight slots," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin added, "Passenger movement during the 2021/2022 Nataru period is estimated to be still lower than normal conditions before the pandemic. However, all AP II personnel must remain on full alert in the midst of this pandemic."

In facing the 2021/2022 Nataru period, AP II airport has prepared around 5,000 airport operational and service personnel (aviation security, terminal inspection service, customer service), and includes 900 support personnel from the TNI/Polri elements.

All personnel will be more active in ensuring security and services for airplane passengers and airport visitors.

"In protecting personnel on duty in the midst of a pandemic, AP II runs a workforce protection program including, among others, task scheduling management, ensuring the availability of PPE, regular health monitoring, disinfecting work locations/areas, and promoting contactless services," said Muhammad Awaluddin. .

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Readiness
At Soekarno-Hatta Airport as the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia as well as an airport anchoring domestic flights, the presence of the Command Post is also strengthened by the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) and Airport Infrastructure Control Center (AICC).

AOCC for stakeholder coordination to ensure airport and flight operational efficiency. Meanwhile, AICC is to monitor the performance of facilities and infrastructure both inside the terminal building (x-ray, walk through metal detector, fire alarm system, air circulation, etc.) and outside the terminal building (Main Power System power plant, CCTV system, network , clean water management, etc.).

"Assurance and monitoring of the reliability of facilities at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are now carried out online so that service and security standards can be further maintained," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

On the other hand, AP II has also increased its preparedness to anticipate extreme weather that could disrupt flight or airport operations. Related to this, AP II together with stakeholders and airlines will anticipate the impact by implementing a delay management protocol.

AP II hopes that through increased preparedness to ensure health, hygiene, safety and security aspects, AP II airports can support air transportation in providing safe transportation.
