Close synergy with stakeholders is the key to the success of Eid transportation at AP II airport

Jakarta - All stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are considered to be able to maintain service and operational standards well in the midst of high flight traffic in the 2022 Eid transportation period.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi this afternoon, May 8, 2022, inspected Terminal 2 to see the peak of the return flow at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The return flow of Eid transportation for air transportation is centered at Soekarno-Hatta Airport as an anchor airport for domestic routes.

"Today's movement is the highest movement since the pandemic. Will move (passengers coming and going) about 150,000 people. From records, there were 1,130 aircraft movements," said the Minister of Transportation.

The Minister of Transportation added, “Preparations have been made and a coordination meeting was held. For activities until the evening, make sure that those who come are in good condition. Services must be provided with a measured time according to applicable regulations.”

In the same place, AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said at the peak of today's backflow, the largest number of passenger movements was in Terminal 2.

"Today is the highest passenger movement at Soekarno-Hatta Airport since the pandemic, around 150,000 people made departure and arrival flights. Of this number, the highest is in Terminal 2 as many as 70,000 people, then Terminal 3 as many as 50,000 people and Terminal 1 as many as 30,000 people, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin said AP II as the airport manager carried out close coordination with all stakeholders including airlines, ground handling operators, AirNAv Indonesia, TNI and Polri, Airport Authority, Customs and Excise, Immigration and Quarantine.

"At the peak of the return flow on May 7-8, all stakeholders carried out super tight coordination to ensure smooth Eid transportation. AP II is grateful for the support from all stakeholders and airplane passengers who have contributed to the success of the Eid transportation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and all AP II airports," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief Kombes Sigit Dany Setiyono assessed that the coordination of all stakeholders was able to realize the smoothness of Eid transportation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport even though flight traffic was very high, especially at the peak of return flows.

"Currently the situation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is in a safe and conducive condition. The increase in the number of flights is well managed. Coordination was carried out by the Air Task Force for Handling COVID-19, the TNI, Polri, airlines, as well as providing health services, booster vaccinations, rest facilities. So far, nothing serious has happened. Technical and non-technical matters are mapped and well prepared. God willing, we can do a good service,” said Kombes Sigit Dany Setiyono.

Head of the Main Service Office of Customs and Excise at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Finari Manan, said that the good synergy made the international arrival process run smoothly at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“International arrivals have increased. Usually 30 - 44 international arrival flights per day, increasing today to 55 international arrivals. The arrival of international passengers has been handled well because of the synergy and cooperation between the Soekarno-Hatta Airport community and the full support of the Minister of Transportation," explained Finari Manan.
