Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II made flight operations adjustments at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in line with the increase in flight traffic during the recovery period amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting October 1, 2022, Lion Air's Umrah flights are served through Terminal 2F from the previous one at Terminal 3.

"Starting October 1, 2022, Umrah pilgrims departing for the Holy Land using Lion Air will be served at Terminal 2F from the previous one at Terminal 3. This policy is also an effort to balance the movement of aircraft and passengers between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, as well as ensuring service aspects are always maintained. well maintained," said Agus Haryadi.

Agus Haryadi explained that at the beginning of this year all Umrah flights were served at Terminal 3.

"Before the Hajj period in June 2022, the number of Umrah pilgrims departing from Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in January - May 2022 cumulatively reached around 340,000 people. It is estimated that the number of Umrah flights will continue to increase, so that starting October 1, 2022 flights to Jeddah by Lion Air will be served through Terminal 2F, while flights to Jeddah by Garuda Indonesia and Saudia will remain in Terminal 3."

On average, Lion Air will operate 3-4 flights/day from Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Jeddah.

Furthermore, Agus Haryadi said the inaugural flight for Umrah pilgrims from Terminal 2 went smoothly due to the readiness of security, safety and service aspects.

"AP II and related stakeholders collaborate to ensure the smooth departure and arrival of Umrah pilgrims through Terminal 2F. All public facilities have been prepared such as a prayer room, as well as check-in counter services, immigration, Customs and Excise, and baggage handling which are ready to serve Umrah pilgrims.”
