23 Nov 2022

The Cianjur AP II Earthquake Disaster Response Task Force team joined the Cianjur BUMN Disaster Task Force

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II, the manager of 20 airports in Indonesia, dispatched the Cianjur Earthquake Response Task Force Team to assist in handling the earthquake disaster in Cianjur (West Java) which occurred on November 22, 2022.

The Cianjur Earthquake Disaster Response Task Force Team consists of 16 AP II employees who among others serve in the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (ARFF) and Aviation Security units, as well as 1 doctor.

"AP II expresses its deep condolences for the earthquake in Cianjur. May the people be given strength and patience. The Cianjur Earthquake Disaster Response Task Force team, which was departed by AP II from Soekarno-Hatta Airport since yesterday, has been at the disaster site, joining the Cianjur BUMN Disaster Task Force which was formed at the direction of the Minister of BUMN to jointly assist disaster management, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

BUMN Minister Erick Thohir previously said that the BUMN Disaster Task Force continued to coordinate intensively with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and local governments.

The Minister of BUMN has also asked the BUMN Disaster Task Force and the BUMN Foundation for Indonesia to carry out a mapping regarding the basic needs of affected communities.

Muhammad Awaluddin added, AP II as the coordinator of the BUMN Disaster Task Force for the Banten region had also coordinated with every BUMN in Banten for the distribution of aid to residents in Cianjur.

"AP II and other SOEs are jointly trying to respond quickly to the disaster in Cianjur. The first thing that must be ensured is assistance for affected residents, both basic needs, health and others, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

AP II VP of Corporate Communications Cin Asmoro explained that currently the Cianjur Earthquake Response Task Force team from AP II had set up a post at the earthquake site to be precise in Ciarma Field, Barukaso Village, Suka Mulya Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur.

"11 BUMN Cianjur Disaster Task Force Posts have been built, and the AP II team is at post number 10 which is located in Ciarma Field," said Cin Asmoro.

Cin Asmoro said that the command post built by AP II also opened a channel for aid coming from various parties.

"Based on information received from fellow AP II volunteers, previously the area was not touched by aid, and since the post was established, assistance from other BUMN Task Forces has begun to arrive to help local residents," Cin Asmoro explained.

AP II itself has distributed assistance in the form of groceries, tents and medicines.

Cin Asmoro said AP II would distribute assistance for the next stage, by looking at the needs according to the mapping results in the field.

In addition to distributing aid, the AP II team also evacuated victims of the Cianjur earthquake.
